as I walk along the dark, dusty street
I see a man with a gun and a crusty beard.
a woman across the road screams insanely
and then runs until it again seems safe.
the man looks about and dons a black mask
then walks stepping on every crack solidly.
as he walks away, I track his course southward.
he walks to the bank projecting his force ahead.
a police car drives casually westward.
I panic and wave my hands wildly about.
the car stops and the driver questions me.
he tears off south before my relations finish.
as I walk toward my house back eastward,
the police arrest the man in the black mask.
I relate the story to my worried wife.
she hugs me and stares with blurry eyes.
I tell her everything will be alright.
but she just smiles and holds me tighter.
